Azerbaijan plays key role in delivering Afghanistan’s goods to Europe: Mawlavi Kabir 

KABUL: The Deputy Prime Minister for Political Affairs Mawlavi Abdul Kabir, in a meeting with Ambassador of Azerbaijan Ilham Mommadov, called the opening of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Kabul the best historical opportunity, Arg said in a statement Tuesday.

“We are ready to increase our cooperation with Afghanistan in various fields, including economy, agriculture, oil, and gas, as well as utilizing the Trans-Caspian corridor, but we ask for the Islamic Emirate’s comprehensive support in this area,” the statement quoted Ambassador Mommadov as saying.

The Islamic Emirate is interested in expanding relations and increasing cooperation with Azerbaijan in various fields said Mawlavi Abdul Kabir adding, we have always been supporting Azerbaijan’s position on the Nagorno-Karabakh issue, said the statement.

Mawlavi Abdul Kabir said that Afghanistan in addition to common religious, cultural and historical commonalities with Azerbaijan, respects each other’s territorial integrity.

In the meeting, Azerbaijan’s ambassador also praised the Islamic Emirate’s achievements in ensuring security, eliminating administrative corruption and eradicating drug cultivation, production and trafficking.

Deputy Prime Minister Mawlavi Abdul Kabir said: “The Islamic Emirate by utilizing Afghanistan’s geographical position wants to create a favorable environment for transit and trade, therefore, we are seeking Azerbaijani investors to invest in Afghanistan and will provide them with necessary facilitations”.

Referring to Azerbaijan’s position and its transit activities, Mawlavi Abdul Kabir stated that Azerbaijan plays a crucial role in delivering Afghanistan’s goods to Europe through its territories.
