KABUL: The chief of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (UN-FAO) Richard Trenchard, on Tuesday in a meeting with the Minister of Water and Energy Mullah Abdul Latif Mansour called on the strengthening of the his-led organization’s cooperation and coordination with the ministry.
In the meeting, considering climate change and drought in Afghanistan, ways to strengthen joint cooperation and coordination between the UN and the ministry were discussed.
Trenchard deemed it necessary to expand cooperation at the provincial level for water management and assured his organization’s support with the ministry in this regard.
Afghanistan is one of the most vulnerable countries affected by climate change.
