169 children with congenital heart defects to be treated by financial support of QRCS

KABUL: The Afghan Red Crescent Society said in a statement that 196 169 children with congenital heart disease will be treated with the financial support of the Qatar Red Crescent Society (ARCS) in Afghanistan.

According to the statement, Mullah Nooruddin Turabi, Acting president of the Afghan Red Crescent Society met with Ahmed Al-Othmani, the representative of the Qatar Red Crescent Society, here in Kabul.

In the meeting, Mullah Turaabi praised Qatar’s Red Crescent Society’s continued cooperation with the Afghan Red Crescent Society.

Qatar Red Crescent Society recently donated $416,720 to the Afghan Red Crescent Society, said the statement.

It is planned that with this assistance, 169 children with congenital heart defects will be treated, said that statement adding that among these children, 26 of them were referred to two private hospitals in Kabul yesterday.

It’s mentionable, that the Afghan Red Crescent Society has provided financial support for the treatment of 3,000 children with congenital heart defects in the country over the past two years.
