KABUL: The Ministry of Public Health of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, during a ceremony celebrated World Health Day with the slogan “My health is My right”.
The aim behind commemorating this day is to increase public awareness, improve access to healthcare services for patients, highlight achievements in health sector and share information in this regard.
The Acting Minister of Public Health, Dr. Qalandar Ebad, said: “Providing standard healthcare services to all citizens is the duty of the ministry
“Currently, healthcare services are provided in nearly 5,000 healthcare centers and many government hospitals across the country,” he said.
Dr. Ebad added that in the past year, nearly 80 million patients sought treatment at government health centers and hospitals.
The Ministry of Health is trying to equip all hospitals with modern medical equipment, he said, urging the countrymen to trust the Afghan medical staff.
