Nearly 3,000 prisoners released on occasion of Eid al-Fitr, Supreme Court

KABUL: Based on the Decree of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Emirate Shaikh Mullah Hibatullah Akhundzada, 2,800 prisoners, including women and children have been released from the country’s prisons on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, the Supreme Court said in a statement on Monday.
According to the statement, an additional 1,420 prisoners have also benefited from the decree of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Emirate issued on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, and they have been granted a reduction in their sentences.
The decree have been implemented transparently by assigned delegation, according to the statement.
Meanwhile, officials of the Parwan province said that 84 prisoners have been released from the province’s jail.
