Recent rains left five dead and ten injured in Nangarhar

JALALABAD: The recent heavy rains claimed the lives of five people and injured ten others in Nangarhar province, the provincial governor’s press office said in a statement.

In the recent rains in the Shinwar, Momandara, Batikot, Rodat, Achin and Chaparhar districts of Nangarhar, the roofs of some rains-soaked and mad-made houses collapsed, which claimed the lives  5 people, including a woman and a child and sustained injuries to 10 others.

Also, the rains destroyed 1,001 houses, 460 acres of agricultural land and perished 105 livestock across the province, according to the statement.
