KABUL: Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, today, inaugurated the construction work on three road projects worth around one billion Afghanis, in the capital Kabul, the deputy PM office said in a statement.
The projects included the construction of the second lane of the Kotal-e-Khairkhana road, the construction of the road extending from Shaheed crossroad to Qasaba road, and the road connecting the Maidan Hawaye to Gomrok [Kabul International Airport road to Kabul Costume houses], said the statement, adding the projects’ budgets are paid by the Kabul municipality.
During the inauguration of the projects, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund stated that significant efforts were underway to bring order to Kabul city and these efforts had fruitful results.
He called upon the citizens of the country to collaborate with the government in safeguarding and protecting public utility projects.
Kabul, the capital city of the country, is currently the most populous city with an estimated population of around six million, and the Islamic Emirate has planned numerous projects with the aim of improving the living conditions in Kabul, and the construction of roads is one of them.
