EC Technical Committee discusses digitization of vehicle permits, driving licenses

KABUL: The Technical Committee of the Economic Commission, held a meeting at the Marmarin Palace, discussing issues on the agenda, the deputy PM office for economic affairs said in a statement the other day.
According to the statement, the meeting discussed several important topics including the digitization of vehicle permits and driving licenses.
After a comprehensive discussion and exchange of views considering the workload of the National Statistics and Information Authority, it was proposed to the Economic Commission that the responsibility for digitizing vehicle permits and driving licenses be transferred to the General Directorate of Traffic, the statement added.
The General Directorate of Traffic, in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior, is recommended to initiate the process for vehicle permits and driving licenses expeditiously through public-private partnership.
Also, the proposal will be presented to the Economic Commission for approval.
