KABUL: The first meeting to establish the High Commission for the Counter-Narcotics, was held with the Deputy Prime Minister for Political Affairs Mawlavi Abdul Kabir, on the chair, at Sapidar Palace, Arg said in a statement.
According to the statement, in the meeting, the working procedures of the High Commission for the Fight Against Intoxicants and Narcotics, have been discussed.
Mawlavi Abdul Kabir stated that the aim behind establishing the High Commission is to conduct an effective fight against drugs, identify alternative crop cultivation methods, and provide treatment for drug addicts.
Also, Mawlavi Abdul Haq Aakhund, the Deputy Minister for Counter-Narcotics, highlighted the achievements of the Islamic Emirate in the fight against this phenomenon, stating that Afghanistan has been successful in this regard, and the international community has acknowledged this success, said the statement.
It is mentionable that the recent achievements of the Islamic Emirate in the fight against narcotics were endorsed by the participating members at the third Doha meeting.
