KABUL: As many as 36 people were arrested and over 1,464 kg of hashish have been seized in Kabul and Nangarhar provinces, the Ministry of Interior Affairs said in separate statements today.
According to the statement, during a series of anti-narcotics operations launched by the counter-drug police personnel of the ministry, 1,400 kg of hashish have been discovered and seized in the Haska Mina district of Nangarhar province.
Also, 15 individuals have been arrested on charges with the case and transferred to the judicial organs.
According to the statement, 21 other individuals have been arrested on charges of smuggling and use of drugs from various districts of the capital Kabul, with 4 kg of hashish and over 1000 tablets.
The IEA security forces are making efforts to prevent the purchasing and trafficking of drugs across the country.
