Excavation of salt mine begins in Faryab

KABUL: Spokesman of the Ministry of Mine and Petroleum, Humayun Afghan in a videotape on his X page said on Saturday, that the excavation of a salt mine has started in Dowlatabad district of Faryab province.

The salt mine of Andkhoi was given to a domestic company named Abu Saeed at a cost of 24 million dollars, Afghan said.

According to him, the mine with an area of 14 kilometers, will be extracted for 15 years.

Andkhoi is the largest salt mine in the country that has just been awarded a contract.
