UNICEF assured to cooperate in improving health care services in Afghanistan

KABUL: The head of UNICEF for Afghanistan, Dr. Tajuddin Avila, and his accompanying delegation, in a meeting with the Acting Minister of Public Health of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Mawlavi Noor Jalal Jalali, said that we are working closely with the Ministry of Public Health to improve health care services in Afghanistan.

In the meeting, the two sides discussed the existing health situation, services offered in the country, and the standard health services for the Afghan people, according to a statement from the ministry.

Minister Jalali emphasized on better financing and equipping of health centers, reducing the problem of shortage of medicines, fair payment of salaries to health workers, and some other areas.

Meanwhile, the officials of various departments of the UNICEF organization have assured full cooperation with the Ministry of Health.
