KABUL: The High Council of Standards’ meeting was held with the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, on the chair, where 30 new various standards have been approved.
The meeting was attended by Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, director of the Afghanistan National Standard Authorities (ANSA) Mullah Faizullah Samim, and other council members, according to a statement from the Deputy PM office on Saturday.
The meeting was attended by Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, the Director-General of the National Standards Authority, Mullah Faizullah Tamim, permanent members of the council, and representatives from the private sector, the statement said.
According to the statement, speaking at the meeting, Baradar emphasized the necessity of formulating and implementing standards to ensure the provision of quality domestic and imported products to the Afghan people.
The application of the approved standards would prevent the import and production of substandard goods, ensuring that the public has access to high-quality products, Mullah Baradar said, urging all institutions to strictly implement and monitor the standards approved by the council. According to the statement, the approved standards included construction materials, food and beverages, medical equipment, mining, petroleum products, textiles, environmental protection, and electrical appliances.
