Turkey ready to cooperate in development of Afghan universities


KABUL: The Turkish ambassador to Afghanistan, Cenk Ünal has stated that his country is ready to increase its cooperation in the advancement of Afghan universities.

The spokesman of the Ministry of Higher Education Hafiz Ziaullah Hashemi, said in a statement today that the ambassador made the remarks in a meeting with the Acting Minister of Higher Education Shaikh Neda Mohammad Nadeem, here in Kabul.

To enhance capacities and gain more experience in educational sectors, Ambassador Unal also invited a joint delegation from faculties of engineering, agriculture, and medicine in Afghanistan universities to visit Turkey, said the statement.

Meanwhile, Shaikh Neda Mohammad Nadeem praised Turkey’s scientific collaboration with Kabul, highlighting the existing religious and cultural commonalities between Afghanistan and Turkey.

He emphasized the importance of Turkey’s assistance in strengthening bachelor’s and master’s programs in Afghan universities. Turkey has previously collaborated with Afghanistan in other areas, including trade and economy, over the past three years.
