Mawlawi Zabihullah Mujahid: Sanctions and forces are failed experiences, global policy must change

KABUL: Spokesman of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Mawlavi Zabihullah Mujahid, stated that with the beginning of the New Year [Gregorian], the Islamic Emirate expects the sanctions on the banking system and officials of the Emirate to be lifted by the international community.

“The policy of pressure, sanctions, and force are failed experience, negatively and directly impacting the lives of the people in the country and that the policies of some countries need to be changed,” he said.

Mujahid also expressed the Islamic Emirate’s demand for the release of Afghanistan’s frozen assets and stressed the importance of handing over the Emirate’s seat at the United Nations.

The Islamic Emirate has repeatedly said that they are seeking engagement with world countries based on mutual respect and will not allow any country to use Afghanistan’s soil.
