KABUL: The Acting Minister of Interior Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani, in a meeting with Alireza Bikdeli, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Kabul, discussed strengthening of bilateral relations, the ministry said in a statement on Monday.
According to the statement, Haqqani welcomed the Iranian ambassador and asked him to work for the expansion of the historical and cultural ties between Kabul and Tehran.
Meanwhile, Bikdeli said Afghanistan and Iran are two brothers and Muslim countries, and further efforts should be made to enhance relations between the two neighbors in various fields, said the statement.
