Activation of Chabahar port in top priority, Iran ambassador

KABUL: The new Iranian ambassador to Afghanistan, Ali Reza Bekdeli, during a courtesy meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister for Political Affairs Mawlavi Abdul Kabir, stated that activating the Chabahar Port is a top priority for him.

According to a statement from Arg on Wednesday, the new Iranian ambassador called for the expansion of relations between Kabul and Tehran in various sectors and for the signing of the Memorandum of Understandings.

Ali Reza Bekdeli also invited Mawlavi Abdul Kabir to visit Tehran.

Pointing to the historical and cultural relations between the two sides, Mawlavi Abdul Kabir, expressed hope for the expansion of relations between Kabul and Tehran.

He also urged Iranian investors to invest in Afghanistan.

The Deputy PM thanked the Iranian government for hosting Afghan refugees, urging them to treat these individuals well and to refrain from forced deportations.
