Strengthening bilateral relations among issues discussed in PM, Iranian FM meeting in Kabul


KABUL: The Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund, during a meeting with Sayed Abbas Araghchi, the Iranian Foreign Minister, talked about strengthening bilateral relations in various areas.

Welcoming the delegation, Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund said that such diplomatic visits should be increased to strengthen and develop diplomatic, political and economic relations between the two Muslim and brother countries, according to a statement from the IEA deputy spokesman Mullah Hamdullah Fitrat on Sunday.

He said that dialogue and understanding could be a good solution to the problems between Kabul and Tehran.

“Living in an atmosphere of understanding and brotherhood and fostering relations will strengthen the relations between the two countries and lead to the well-being of the two nations,” the Prime Minister said as quoted by the statement.

The Prime Minister also asked the Iranian government to deal with Afghan migrants in accordance with Islamic principles and provide them with necessary services and facilities.

According to the statement, Araghchi said that Iran’s security and stability depend on Afghanistan’s security and stability, and his country is seeking to expand cooperation with the Islamic Emirate in various fields. Pointing to Iran’s historical, religious and economic relations with Afghanistan, he said: “We are happy that after four decades of conflict and instability, overall security has been provided in Afghanistan.”­­
