KABUL: Sayed Abbas Araghchi, the Iranian Foreign Minister, stated that officials of the Islamic Emirate have a very positive interpretation regarding Iran’s water rights, emphasizing that even without the Helmand Treaty, releasing water to the neighboring country would be a religious and humanitarian duty for Afghanistan.
He made the remarks with the media after his meetings with the acting Foreign Minister, the Prime Minister, and the acting Minister of National Defense.
“Various issues, including migration, water rights, border security, economy, and trade, have been discussed between the two nations,” he said.
Araghchi assessed his visit to Afghanistan and meetings with officials of the Islamic Emirate as positive and beneficial, adding that there is a willingness on the Afghan side to address the discussed issues.
A high-level Iranian delegation, led by the Foreign Minister, conducted multiple meetings with officials of the Islamic Emirate upon their arrival in Afghanistan yesterday.
