KABUL: Mullah Abdul Latif Mansour, the Acting Minister of Water and Energy, in a meeting with Murad Artikov, head of the TAP International Project Department, and Hoja Ovezov, the Turkmen ambassador to Kabul, said that Afghanistan is fully prepared to commence the practical work on the “TAP” project.
According to a statement from the Ministry on Tuesday, in the meeting, Mullah Mansour emphasized the significance of this regional project and called for expediting efforts to begin its practical work.
Meanwhile, Murad Artikov also expressed Turkmenistan’s readiness to start practical work on the project, mentioning the preparation of a roadmap to advance the TAP initiative.
In the meeting, Afghan and Turkmen officials agreed that technical teams of Afghanistan, Turkmenistan and Pakistan, hold a meeting soon.
The TAP project is considered as a major regional initiative for transmitting electricity from Turkmenistan through Afghanistan to Pakistan.
