IEA urged all citizens to use Afghani currency in transactions

KABUL: The office of the Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate, in a decree on Wednesday, instructed traders, money changers, gem transporters, and citizens to use Afghan currency in all transactions within the country.
The General Administration Affairs of the Islamic Emirate published this six-article decree today [Wednesday 29].
The second article states: “No one is allowed to carry more than $5,000 through airports and more than $500 through land border crossings and the Durand Line into other countries.”
The decree also banned bringing regional countries’ currencies into Afghanistan.
Also, the Prime Minister’s Office has tasked the Ministries of National Defense, Interior Affairs, and the General Directorate of Intelligence with preventing the smuggling of currency, gold, gemstones, and historical artifacts out of the country.
According to the decree, those who transfer amounts exceeding the specified limit will be considered offenders, with a penalty of one year in prison for every million dollars.
For those caught smuggling less than one million dollars, the punishment is one month in prison for every $100,000, and valuable items such as gold, precious stones, and historical artifacts will be confiscated and held at the Central Bank until further notice from the Prime Minister.
The Islamic Emirate is striving to maintain the stability of the Afghan currency against foreign currencies, including the dollar, amid market fluctuations.
