KABUL: The Ministry of National Defense said in a statement on Thursday that the Islamic and National Army team has secured the title of champion of the Kabul Premier League for the second consecutive year.
According to the statement, the Islamic and National Army football team defeated the powerful team of Peace team 2-0 in the final match of the Kabul Premier League and achieved the championship trophy.
The Kabul Premier League, featuring 10 teams, has been organized for some time by the National Football Federation and the General Directorate of Physical Education and Sports.
At the end of the tournament, the Peace team from Maiwand Club secured the runner-up position.
Also, Qari Fahim from the Islamic and National Army team was named the top scorer, while Hajranullah from Maiwand Club was awarded the title of best goalkeeper.
