KABUL: Zalmay Khalilzad, the former U.S. representative for Afghan peace talks, stated that Pakistan’s intelligence agency (ISI) seeks to recruit former Afghan officials as tools.
Khalilzad wrote on his X today that while former Afghan officials are living comfortably abroad, the ISI intends to use them to promote violence and turmoil in Afghanistan.
He urged former Afghan officials residing outside the country not to get involved in the games of the Pakistani intelligence agency.
Khalilzad emphasized that the ISI aims to use former officials as tools in negotiations with the Islamic Emirate.
This comes in the wake of recent reports about an ISI delegation holding talks with former Afghan officials in Turkey.
