Mawlavi Abdul Kabir: Neighboring countries must stop forced deportation of migrants

KABUL: The Acting Minister of Refugees and Repatriations Mawlavi Abdul Kabir, has said that neighboring countries should cease the forced deportation of Afghan migrants.

He made the remarks during a meeting with Takayoshi Kurumaya, the Japanese ambassador in Kabul, emphasized that Afghan migrants should be allowed to return to Afghanistan voluntarily.

Mawlavi Abdul Kabir also highlighted the needs of migrants and internally displaced persons for humanitarian assistance, stressing that such aid should not be politicized.

Meanwhile, Takayoshi Kurumaya provided information about Japan’s assistance to migrants in areas such as health, education, drug control, alternative livelihoods, water management, and climate change.

This comes as the Pakistani government has decided to deport hundreds of thousands of Afghan migrants holding ACC and POR cards from its capital.
