U.S. imposes sanctions on ICC Prosecutor Karim Khan

KABUL: Based on U.S. President Donald Trump’s order White House imposed sanctions on Karim Khan, the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC), Reuters reported on Monday night.

Under the U.S. president’s decision, Karim Khan and his family members will be prohibited from traveling to the United States, and all their bank accounts and assets in the country will be seized.

A few days ago, Khan, along with another ICC prosecutor, issued arrest warrants for two senior officials of the Islamic Emirate.

The issuance of these warrants has faced strong reaction within Afghanistan and has been heavily condemned.
