KABUL: The Acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum, Mullah Hedayatullah Badri, in an official ceremony, signed a contract worth 83.8 million Afghani for the extraction of Bamyan’s lead and zinc mines with a domestic company.
According to a statement from the ministry on Wednesday, the contract for the extraction of Bamyan’s lead and zinc has been signed between the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum and the Baloch Mohammad Azizi Trading, Extraction and Processing Company for a period of 5 years.
The contracting company will be responsible for the exploration, extraction, and processing of lead and zinc mines in the country, the statement said.
Speaking in the signing ceremony, Mullah Hedayatullah Badri, said: “The contract for this mine is for a duration of 5 years, conditional upon working and operating according to the principles, mining procedures, and their commitments, and it will be extended for a second time after the completion of the specified term.”
Badri added that 100% of the lead and zinc processed from the mentioned mine will be carried out within the country.
