KABUL: Spokesman of the Islamic Emirate Mawlavi Zabihullah Mujahid, in a statement called February 15 as a proud day in Afghanistan’s history and a day of gratitude to Allah.
“The jihad, struggles, sacrifices, migrations, and hardships of all Afghans and Muslims against the former Soviet Union led to the defeat of a powerful regime and its withdrawal from Afghanistan,” the statement quoted him as saying.
Mujahid emphasized that the successes of jihad against over a century of continuous invasions should be a lesson for future aggressors, urging them not to take steps against Afghanistan’s independence and freedom again.
Mawlavi Mujahid called on all citizens to remain vigilant against any conspiracies and plots and to follow the path of their ancestors by maintaining their strong resolve and Islamic unity to protect their faith, beliefs, and independence.
