KABUL: The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriations signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) worth over $1.5 million with the Danish Refugees Council (DRC), the ministry said in a statement on Monday.
The agreement was signed between Mawlavi Abdul Rahman Rashid, the Deputy Minister of Refugees and Repatriations, and the head of DRC.
Based on the MoU, assistance will be provided to 298,556 returning refugees and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Kabul, Kandahar, Parwan, Zabul, Ghazni, Maidan Wardak, Kapisa, Herat, Badghis, Farah, and Kunar provinces, said the statement.
The objectives of the agreement include the distribution of cash assistance and the protection of the economic status of returnees and internally displaced individuals.
Efforts are underway to support migrants and returnees in the country.
