Minister Jalali: New national policy will pave way for health system self-sufficiency

KABUL: The Acting Minister of Public Health of the Islamic Emirate Mawlavi Noor Jalal Jalali, during a meeting with the Japanese Ambassador to Kabul, Takayoshi Kurmaya, stated that the new national health policy will pave the way for self-sufficiency in the health system, according to a statement from the ministry on Tuesday.

“The new policy will enhance coordination among partners in the health sector, prevent unnecessary delays and costs, and address the current health challenges facing the community,” the statement quoted Minister Jalali as saying.

The Japanese ambassador expressed satisfaction with increased coordination in the health sector, and assured his country’s support for Afghanistan’s health initiatives, said the statement.

It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Public Health has prioritized the standardization of services and self-sufficiency in the country’s health sector.
