Dozens of prisoners released on arrival of holy month of Ramadan in Nangarhar

JALALABAD: Based on a verdict from the country’s Supreme Court, 70 prisoners have been released from Nangarhar jail on the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan, the provincial governor’s press office said in a statement on Wednesday.

Mawlavi Suhail Saeed, the head of provincial prison affairs, said that the released prisoners must reform themselves and live within the framework of the country’s laws and avoid committing any crime in the future, according to the statement.

The leadership of the Islamic Emirate has pardoned a number of prisoners in a decree on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan and has also reduced the prison terms of others.
