U.S. seeking broader trade agreement with China

KABUL: The United States of America is seeking a broader trade agreement with China, the New York Times reported on Wednesday night.

According to the report, Trump aims to persuade China to make significant investments and purchase more American products.

The report states that Washington’s efforts to secure a broader trade agreement with Beijing are taking place despite substantial barriers in the relationship between the two countries.

This report comes at a time when Trump began his tenure by applying pressure on China.

He signed an order increasing tariffs on imported goods from China by 10 percent, which prompted a reciprocal reaction from Beijing.

China and the U.S. are considered rival powers in the political, trade, and technology arenas globally.
