KABUL: The construction of a new substation in Batkhak and the 220 kV power transmission line from Arghandi to the area, valued at $25.4 million, during a ceremony, have been kicked off today in Kabul, said the Minister of Water and Energy.

The ceremony was attended by the Islamic Emirate high-ranking officials, mujahidin, local residents and the private sector.

The Ministry of Water and Energy stated that the projects are being implemented by the ministry with investment from the private company, Awfi Bahram Mining and Trading Company.

Speaking in the ceremony, Mullah Abdul Latif Mansour, the acting minister of Water and Energy, mentioned that these projects are part of a series of initiatives related to the 500 kV Turkmenistan-Afghanistan transmission line.

The Ministry of Water and Energy is responsible for two important sectors in the country, both of which have seen significant advancements, said Minister Mansour.
