KABUL: A high-ranking delegation of the Islamic Emirate, led by Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, has returned to Afghanistan following a two-day visit to Uzbekistan.
The delegation’s plane landed this afternoon [Sunday, February 23] at Kabul International Airport.
During this visit, Mullah Baradar met with Uzbek government leaders, including the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, to discuss enhancing political, economic, trade, and transit cooperation.
Also, the delegation held meetings with Afghan businessmen residing in Uzbekistan to address trade and investment opportunities.
Separately, the acting Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock met with Uzbek officials to explore collaboration in the agricultural sector.
The visit also included a meeting between the Governor of Afghanistan’s Central Bank and his Uzbek counterpart, as well as a visit to the Afghan Embassy in Tashkent.
Notably, for the first time, the flag of the Islamic Emirate was displayed during the meeting between Uzbekistan’s Prime Minister and the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
