KABUL: The Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, stated that water levels are decreasing globally, his office said in a statement.
He made the remark today, February 24, at the International Water Conference in Kabul.
According to the statement, the reduction of water resources has had negative effects on politics and the economy worldwide.
“Afghanistan has not progressed in research as needed, and the Ministry of Higher Education has initiated several important research initiatives,” he said.
The International Water Conference is being held in Kabul with the participation of specialists from 14 countries, including Afghanistan. According to a reporter from Radio Omid, in the conference 135 specialists are scheduled to present their topics related to climate change, drought, and flood management.
