KABUL: Friedrich Merz, leader of the German conservatives and a prominent political figure in the country, has invited Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel, to visit Berlin, media reported on Monday.
He stated that a way would be found for Netanyahu to travel without fear of arrest by the International Criminal Court.
He remarked that it is “ridiculous” for the Israeli Prime Minister to be unable to visit Germany due to the fear of arrest.
Netanyahu made the remarks during a phone conversation with Merz to congratulate him on his electoral victory.
It is noteworthy that the International Criminal Court in The Hague issued an arrest warrant for Benjamin Netanyahu last year due to alleged war crimes in Gaza.
