KABUL: Two Indian investors in a meeting with Hafiz Mohammad Agha Hakim, the Governor of Panjshir, submitted their investment proposal for emerald mining in the province, the province’s director of Information and Culture Mawlana Nasrullah Malikzada told Radio Omid today.
According to Malikzada, Davi Yaj and Sanji, two gem traders from India, who recently participated in an auction for extracted emeralds mine in Panjshir, expressed their interest in investing in the province’s mines.
“We are interested in investing in Panjshir’s mines and we would encourage other Indian companies to invest in Afghanistan’s various sectors,” said the traders.
It is noteworthy that just yesterday, 15,552 carats of emeralds extracted from Panjshir mines were sold at an auction for a total of $328,950.
