KABUL: The Helmand Police Command’s press office said in a statement on Thursday that security forces prevented the smuggling of hundreds of liters of acid in the province.
According to the statement, 100 barrels, each containing 30 liters of acid, which was placed in a Mazda cargo truck, have been discovered and seized in the Pashak area of the Gereshk district of Helmand province.
The acid was intended to be smuggled to the Delaram district of Nimroz province, said the statement, adding two individuals have been arrested in connection with the case.
Efforts are underway by the country’s defense and security forces to prevent the smuggling of goods in and out of the country.
