KABUL: Mawlavi Noor Jalal Jalali, the Acting Minister of Public Health, in a press conference today, criticized the operations of some international organizations active in Afghanistan.
Minister Jalali specifically mentioned the World Food Programme (WFP), stating that the organizations has conducted low-quality activities despite receiving significant funding for the Afghan people.
The WFP has been importing substandard food items into Afghanistan, he said, adding that importing low-quality food has not only failed to solve existing issues but has exacerbated them.
Minister Jalali urged donors to international organizations to use the quality of work by these entities as a criterion for their assistance.
This comes as the World Food Programme reports on its humanitarian aid efforts, including food supplies for millions in Afghanistan.
