KABUL: Following warnings from Pakistani officials regarding an impending attack from India, Attaullah Tarar, the Information Minister of Pakistan, has stated that such an attack is expected to occur within the next 24 to 36 hours.
Reuters reported late on Tuesday night that Tarar emphasized that he made the remarks based on credible intelligence.
According to him, New Delhi plans to conduct this attack under the pretext of a recent armed assault on tourists in Pahalgam, Kashmir, which is administered by India.
Tensions between India and Pakistan, both recognized as nuclear-armed nations, have escalated in recent days.
New Delhi claims that elements from Pakistan were involved in the attack on tourists in Kashmir, an accusation that Islamabad has dismissed as baseless, expressing its readiness for impartial investigations.
