KABUL: The United States and Yemeni Houthi forces have reached an agreement, mediated by Oman, to stop attacks against each other, Reuters reported on Tuesday night.
Oman confirmed in a statement that the U.S. will halt bombings in Yemen, while the Houthi forces have committed not to target vessels transiting the Red Sea and the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait.
Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that airstrikes against Houthi forces in Yemen will be suspended.
However, it is unclear whether this ceasefire includes a halt to Houthi attacks against the Israeli regime.
Mahdi al-Mashat, head of the Houthi Supreme Council, stated that they will continue their support for Gaza against Israel.
This development comes after Houthi forces attacked U.S. warships in the Red Sea, prompting Washington to target Houthi positions with intense and devastating airstrikes.
