Tripartite meeting on economic and trade matters held between Afghanistan-Pakistan, and China

KABUL: A tripartite economic and trade meeting between Afghanistan, China and Pakistan was held with the Acting Minister of Industry and Commerce, Nooruddin Azizi, on the chair, the ministry said in a statement today.

The meeting was attended by the special representatives and ambassadors from Pakistan and China, here in Kabul.

In the statement, the ministry called the meeting as significant, aiming to enhance trade relations, attract investment, and initiate joint projects among Afghanistan, Pakistan, and China.

In the meeting, various issues, including the establishment of joint industrial parks in Afghanistan, the creation of special economic zones, the launch of joint export processing centers, holding trilateral trade exhibitions, establishing support centers for small and medium enterprises in Afghanistan, and facilitating banking relations, have been discussed.

“The Islamic Emirate’s policy is economy-focused, and foreign investment programs will be designed and implemented based on mutual interests in line with this policy,” the statement quoted Minister Azizi as saying.

He also invited the trade ministers of China and Pakistan to visit Afghanistan.

This meeting follows a trilateral meeting hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs the previous day.

Also, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted a trilateral meeting between Afghanistan, Pakistan, and China on Saturday.
