DOHA: The Ambassador of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Doha, Qatar, Suhail Shaheen, met with Jean-Marin Schuh, chargé d’affaires of the French Embassy for Afghanistan, the embassy said in a statement on Sunday.
During the meeting, the IEA ambassador has called for the reopening of the French Embassy in Kabul and the resumption of diplomatic activities in Afghanistan.
According to the statement, both sides discussed political relations, humanitarian assistance, bilateral relations, and cooperation in the protection of cultural heritage between Kabul and Paris.
Afghan diplomatic officials have previously stated that many countries are interested in reopening their embassies in Kabul but are refraining from doing so due to their relations with the West.
