KABUL: An explosion targeting a vehicle carrying civilian and military officials in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan, has resulted in at least five deaths and 11 injuries.
According to local officials, as reported by the Pakistani Dawn newspaper on Wednesday, the attack occurred on the “Nagai” road in the Sadiqabad area of Bajaur district.
Waqqas Rafiq, the police chief of Bajaur district, stated that the blast killed two government officials, two police personnel, and a civilian, while injuring 11 others. He noted that the explosion was so powerful that the targeted vehicle was completely destroyed.
The spokesperson for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government condemned the deadly blast.
It is worth mentioning that unrest has recently increased in Pakistan, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Earlier this week, a car bomb attack on a convoy of Pakistani military vehicles in the same province resulted in at least 15 soldiers killed and nearly 30 others injured.
