KABUL: Mawlavi Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA), stated that Russia’s move to recognize the IEA in Afghanistan is a “bold step at the right time.”
In an interview with the Russian state media agency RIA Novosti, published on Friday night, Mujahid remarked that this action by Russia could serve as a turning point for the international recognition of the IEA and for improving the country’s economy.
He noted: “Russia has provided extensive opportunities in this regard and expressed hope that other countries will follow this example.”
Mujahid also expressed optimism that advancements in political and economic bilateral relations would pave the way for increased cooperation in trade, infrastructure, and diplomacy at the regional level.
The Russian government became the first country to officially recognize the IEA on Thursday night.
This move has garnered reactions both domestically and internationally, including positive responses from the IEA and China.
