KABUL: Mawlavi Noor Jalal Jalali, the Acting Minister of Public Health, has urged Afghan medical professionals residing abroad to return to the country and contribute to healthcare services.
According to Radio Omid correspondent, he made the remarks today during the first Congress of Surgeons in Afghanistan held in Kabul.
The Acting Minister assured Afghan medical staff who left the country for various reasons that the ministry is committed to utilizing their expertise in both private and public healthcare institutions in Afghanistan.
He emphasized that the country’s hospitals still need standardization and that medical professionals can play a crucial role in addressing this gap.
Citing international organizations, he noted that the healthcare sector in Afghanistan requires 50,000 beds, and the Ministry of Public Health is working to meet this demand.
Mawlavi Jalali also warned officials at private hospitals not to turn medicine into a business, stating that serious consequences would follow such actions.
