KABUL: The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Dr. Sayed Abbas Araghchi, the country’s Foreign Minister, has met with his Saudi counterpart, Faisal bin Farhan in Mecca.
Ismail Baqaei, spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said on his X on Tuesday night, that the meeting addressed not only bilateral relations between Riyadh and Tehran but also the latest regional developments.
The meeting between Araghchi and bin Farhan occurred following the Iranian Foreign Minister’s return from the BRICS summit.
Details of the recent discussions between the Iranian and Saudi diplomatic officials have not been disclosed.
This meeting comes at a time when the Saudi Defense Minister recently traveled to the U.S. and discussed various issues, including Iran, with President Donald Trump.
