Foreign Ministers of Shanghai Cooperation Organization held meeting in China

KABUL: The two-day meeting of Foreign Ministers of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) has begun in Tianjin, China.

International media reports indicate that the meeting started today, where the foreign ministers will discuss regional and global issues, including the situation in Gaza, the Ukraine conflict, and Iran’s nuclear program.

The meeting participants include the Foreign Ministers of China, Belarus, India, Iran, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.

Pakistan’s Foreign Minister, Mohammad Ishaq Dar, noted on X that today’s meeting reaffirmed their shared commitment to multilateralism, mutual respect, and regional stability.

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization is an intergovernmental regional organization aimed at strengthening political, security, and economic cooperation, currently comprising 10 member countries.
