KABUL: Local officials in the southeastern zone of the country report that Abdul Ghafour Abid, a local reporter for National Television in Paktia, was killed in an attack by Pakistani forces, and two of his colleagues were injured.
Mastaghfar Garbaz, spokesperson for the Khost governor, said that Abdul Ghafour Abid, along with his two colleagues, had gone to the Zazi Maidan district of Khost to cover the clashes between Afghan forces and Pakistani soldiers and was deliberately targeted by the Pakistani military.
Local sources have identified one of the injured as Tawab Arman.
Reports indicate that Abid and his colleagues were attacked while preparing a report during the ongoing conflict between Afghan and Pakistani security forces.
Local journalists in the southeastern region of the country report that Mr. Abid’s body was buried today (Wednesday).
This incident comes amid ongoing clashes between Afghan and Pakistani forces along the Durand Line since the beginning of this week.
