KABUL: In the ongoing regional and international responses to the ceasefire agreement between Afghanistan and Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has also expressed its support for the agreement.
The Gulf Times reported, citing the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, that Abu Dhabi welcomed the agreement on Tuesday night.
According to the report, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement praising the initiatives of Qatar and Turkey in facilitating the ceasefire between Kabul and Islamabad.
The statement emphasized that the UAE supports all efforts that contribute to strengthening security and stability in the region and fulfilling the aspirations of the people of Pakistan and Afghanistan for peace and development.
Abu Dhabi commended the agreement reached by senior officials from Afghanistan and Pakistan to establish mechanisms for reinforcing sustainable peace and stability between the two countries.
This comes as reactions from regional and international stakeholders continue, even four days after the ceasefire agreement between Kabul and Islamabad was announced.
