Nearly 1500 families returned home in a single day

KABUL: The High Commission for Addressing Refugee Issues has said that 1490 families were forcibly expelled and returned home via various routes yesterday and provided with necessary services.

According to a statement from the commission, 43 families via Islam Qala, 34 families from Pul-e-Abreshem, nearly 2,000 people including 1,273 families via Spin Boldak, and 140 families via Bahramcha ports have entered the country.

Meanwhile, 1,252 families received cash assistance, 749 families (3,560 people) were transported to their provinces, as well as 1115 SIM cards were distributed to them, said the statement.

Efforts are underway to provide essential services for the returning Afghans across the country.
